I began my love for stop motion in 2020 after watching Fantastic Mr. Fox, and trying to find a purpose during covid. I created my first Claymation using a free stop motion app on my phone. I used the volume button on stringed headphones to take the pictures without having to touch the screen. I didn't launch my animation Instagram until December 7th, 2022, the same night as a full Cold Moon. And just now in 2026 I am making a website, but just like stop motion, things take time.
Remember the day in age of finsta and private twitter? Back in middle school (2013) it was kind of a rite of passage to create this private account with an anonymous user and unrecognizable profile pic. Only letting your close friends follow, and truly just posting what you wanted. I chose the handle @maui_wauiii based off the Kid Cudi song 'Maui Wowie.' The username has since stuck, and when making an animation account I wanted to incorporate it. That is where the name mauimotion was created. And because hannahanimation was taken.
